"no rest" (2020) by Laura GuildA

 (82,5 x 48 x 51 cm)

Just like a chair, natural moss in the environment plays a functional role that many people take for granted.

This chair represents the decrease of the different species of moss due to destruction of the woods and swamps because of agriculture, industry or construction. The fear of not seeing the moss grow again is represented by the missing cushion in the centre of the seating. There will be nowhere for us to rest when the natural areas of the planet continue to be destroyed. Left unchecked, there will be no place to sit down in the future.

It would be nice if moss covered all our soil again without having us to fall down the whole.

Let's reflect and start to act.
