"strawberry crates" (2015-2020) by Laura GuildA

is a video sculpture consisting of a video projection on 9 strawberry crates. The installation is based on an analysis of the foreign female workers employed on the strawberry fields in the south of Spain. It examines the choice of hiring the seasonal workers and their living and working conditions.

Eight important sentences projected into the crates hanging on the wall are attracting attention to reflect on this example of food production. The video starts alternated in each crate and the sentences are separated by the image of a fully filled strawberry crate.

Like this a game of visual impact is created. The background music of the video is a cover version in Spanish language of the song "Strawberry fields forever" by The Beatles.
